Do you find that chronic joint pain and tightness are keeping you from doing the things you love? Mobility is an essential part of being healthy and happy. Let's make sure we work to improve your range of motion, so that you can live your life to the fullest!
The Basics Range of Motion
So, what is range of motion? It is the mobility of the joints in the body, measured in degrees of a circle. If you are healthy, your joints maintain a normal range of motion that makes you able to move about freely, carry on with normal daily activities, and just enjoy life. Injury, being overweight or obese, incorrect posture, a lack of movement, aging, and issues with the spine may impair your flexibility and range of motion.
Keep Active!
Many clients come to us with common problems including joint, neck, and back pain. The purpose of seeing you chiropractor regularly helps you to maintain and retain your health, no matter your age. Normal range of motion is particularly important for any type of athletic performance.

Regular chiropractic care. Maintaining regular chiropractic care helps your neck, limbs, and joints stay flexible and mobile. When addressing pain issues, chronic ailments are often healed because the normal range of motion is restored.

Stretching. If a plane is your method of transportation, make sure you get up and walk up and down the aisles. Some airplanes even have a small area where you will be able to stretch. If you are traveling by car, try to stop every few hours to get out of the car and stretch. This is also a great opportunity to get a breath of fresh air, enjoy the scenery, and take some pictures.
Hydration. Regularly drinking water is one of the easiest tricks in the book. In order for your body to work properly, be sure it is getting the water it needs.
Lifting heavy suitcases. Whether you're lugging your bag across the airport or loading up the car, make sure you lift with the strength of your legs and not with your back.
Neck support. Today's market offers countless options for travel pillows that are supportive and comfortable. Find one that is the best fit for you, and make sure your neck is in it optimal position.
Back support. Long days of travel can take a toll on your back. Use a small towel or article of clothing, roll it up, and place it behind your lower back to give it the support your seat might not have.
Sleeping. Make an effort to sleep on your side, not on your stomach. After you wake up, a nice long stretch can make a huge difference in how you feel.
Exercises. When you're feeling tight from so much traveling, try rolling your shoulders and ankles. This will make your blood circulate to those areas that feel cramped up.
Your body was built to move, so meet its needs whether you're away or at home.
When you get back from your trip, a chiropractic check-up with us will be just what you! We’ll be sure to keep your body feeling great!
